Rocktober on Spirio, Olga Kern, Autumn Moods and New Ways to Browse Spirio

This month on Spirio our Rocktober playlist returns with new tracks, many in our sing-along format, featuring music of Steely Dan, Queen, The Cranberries, Duran Duran, Phil Collins and others. This month we also follow-up last month’s debut of the spectacular Peter Bence, with new tracks recently recorded.

Spirio favorite Olga Kern also returns this month in a SpirioSync video performing a real jewel from Tchaikovsky’s most substantial piano opus. The Méditation, Op. 72 No. 5 is beautifully presented at New York’s Steinway Hall. We are also treated to a lesser-known gem, Liadov’s “The Music Box.”

Autumn

Sounds for the season

Autumn often brings a sudden shift in many ways. Our updated playlists for the season include Autumn in New York, Autumn Moods, and tracks for that end-of-October holiday, Halloween.

We have added new tracks from two busy and super-talented Jazz pianists, Helen Sung and Kevin Hays. These were recorded recently for a performance at Tanglewood and include a terrific 4-hand collaboration.

Featured Spiriocasts

And, it’s a big month for Spiriocast. There will be live performances with Garrick Ohlsson from San Francisco, Pallavi Mahidhara from New York, and Lang Lang from Beijing. And there are many more of these performances now available on-demand, highlighted this month for a limited time by Víkingur Ólafsson performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations from the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and Peter Bence playing at Steinway Hall.

A few months ago, we launched a new look for the Spirio app. This month that new design expands, providing new ways to browse the ever-growing catalog of music on Spirio. We hope you’ll enjoy discovering new music or easily finding favorites as you explore our new ways to search, browse, watch and listen to Spirio.
