Elisabeth & Yuta Sugano are excited to share their musical knowledge and passion with children! In these sing and sign classes, children will learn singing, signing, music and movement! They will learn the importance of music in our everyday lives, rhythm as it corresponds to music, sign language along with songs, and will learn about various instruments and even be able to play some too!
Yuta Sugano grew up in Japan and came to the states as a teenager. He has studied piano since he was 5 years old and has made his career in music, teaching it privately and performing regularly. He studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin College and University of Michigan, and he completed his doctorate degree in piano performance at the University of Kansas. He also teaches children regularly in music - private lessons as well as a local preschool. He enjoys sharing his passion for music with the younger generation!
Elisabeth Sugano is a native Michigander, having grown up in Ann Arbor. She comes from a large family and has extensive experience with children of all ages, having worked with newborns to teenagers! Elisabeth studied elementary education and especially enjoys teaching preschoolers. Elisabeth grew up with two deaf cousins and learned sign language at a young age to communicate with them. She also grew up singing solos in groups and in choirs. She loves to combine sign language with singing and feels it adds positively to the music.
