Private Voice Instructor
Welcome Emily Hoy to the team at The Arts Academy at Steinway Piano Gallery. Emily began her vocal study at the age of seven. She is currently studying with Dr. MeeAe Nam at Eastern Michigan University School of Music and Dance and is in her senior year majoring in K-12 vocal music education. Emily’s own musical journey over the last 14 years began with extremely gifted teachers that guided her in the proper techniques for vocal development in very young voices. Emily is well-trained in all genres of music, with performing experience in Classical Opera, jazz, and Broadway show tunes. Her goal is to share her love of music with her students and help them experience the joy of self-expression through song.
Lessons are tailored to the age and experience of the performer. Under Emily’s guidance, students are encouraged to explore different genres of music and find and develop their vocal skills. Emily’s goal is to strengthen musical competency in all areas including rhythm, sightreading, and ear training, while evaluating the natural dynamic range of each student and enhancing their ability to express emotion through the qualities of tone that they can create. And most importantly, to make sure the students have fun singing. Students develop confidence and stage presence by participating in recitals throughout the year. Tuition for lessons with Emily is $25 for a half-hour lesson and $45 for an hour. Lessons are currently available on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Note: There is a $25.00 enrollment fee, payable to Steinway Piano Gallery, due at registration. Siblings are $15.00.
