Jim Nuckolls, Piano Instructor

Jim Nuckolls has taught extensively within metro Detroit and has performed throughout the United States and Canada. He has done numerous concerts in the Montreux Jazz Festivals as well as in Farmington Hills and the surrounding communities. He has had long-term engagements in upscale locations such as Pontchartrain Hotel, the Walnut Creek Country Club and others. Jim’s integrity and dedication to his music and art continue to fuel his creativity, which in turn, energizes and inspires him, his students and his audience.

TEACHING PROGRAM

Jim teaches ages 8 through adult and teaches beginners, intermediate and advanced students alike. He specializes in jazz and classical styles and provides a fun and safe learning platform for students to succeed. Tuition for weekly lessons is $30 per half hour, billed monthly. Books and material fees are determined by the instructor. Jim teaches on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the morning, afternoon and early evening. ABOUT JIM

  • Degree in piano from the Detroit Institute of Musical Art
  • Studied piano from Dr. Henry Kolbe and Wayne State professor and concert pianist, Harold de Remer
  • Performed throughout the United States and Canada
  • Appeared on TV, radio and in several recordings
  • 2014 Farmington Area Artist in Residence
